My biggest drive:
The human factor
The best products become shelf warmers, the most innovative business ideas gather dust as concept papers, the most sought-after services don't make the cut - if the people behind them are not in their element. I am convinced that there is a true and important core behind this somewhat exaggerated statement: the more comfortable entrepreneurs, managers and employees feel, the more autonomously and authentically they can act, the more successful they will be. Helping them achieve this is my greatest motivation. In the course of my almost 20 years of international professional experience in sales, marketing, management and consulting, one aspect has consistently occupied me the most: the effects of interpersonal interaction. I have always asked myself how teams can work even more independently and how it is possible to support employees in a more individualised, empathetic and sustainable way.
My approach:
Pragmatic
practical
Personal
I have the same aspirations for working with my clients as I do for their day-to-day work: It should be fun and lead to success! As the objectives are very varied and different, it is quite clear to me that there can never be a tried and tested standard method along the lines of ‘I've always done it this way’. The services I offer and the methods I use are customised for each client. I take a very pragmatic approach and discuss with them in detail what they want to achieve. I follow a systemic approach and always look at the context in which they operate in order to strengthen their resources and competences. This is done in as practical a way as possible - and always close to the individual, whether with the help of Lego Serious Play, Canvas or analysis sessions.
My be-all and end-all:
challenges
The environment in which I grew up professionally and worked as a manager myself for many years - the mobile games industry - was characterised by a great pioneering spirit and offered plenty of room for development. This benefited both my own success and that of the companies I worked for. I also learnt to know and love agile working and mindset during these years. After several years as Sales & Managing Director at Electronic Arts, in 2013 I was seized by the ambition to do something completely different with all my convictions and experience. I started my PhD in Media Studies and really enjoyed learning something new myself. At the same time, I set up my own business as a consultant and coach and quickly realised that I could combine everything that was important to me and that I was convinced of - but above all, I could help others in a very concrete way. That's why I can't imagine a more fulfilling job than this. The challenges of my customers are my daily motivation!
My agile values:
openness
respect
and courage
Anyone can hide, but showing yourself needs to be learnt. Being dictated to from above makes you lonely, respectful co-operation at eye level offers opportunities for genuine identification. Fearful hesitation leads to stagnation, courage is one of the most important investments in the future. I stand for precisely this rethink. My values are also the foundations of agility: openness, respect and courage. Added to this is the willingness to communicate honestly, give feedback and focus on the essentials. For me, successful leadership means encouraging people and motivating them to find their own way that contributes to economic success. In this way, managers are responsible and empathetic sparring partners for their employees, who in turn experience themselves as highly self-effective.
